new love new camera

a few weeks go i asked your suggestions on cameras. i needed one for product photos but i also wanted one for family. my iphone plays family camera and i wanted to start taking some better ones. believe it or not i actually wanted to be a sports photographer through high school before i became a remedial massage therapist, so photography has been something ive always had interest in.
i decided to go with the canon eos 650d and with the limited time ive had to practice so far im happy with my choice!
here are some of my first snaps.... nothing pro just snapping for fun :)

a week of fun then sickness AGAIN

Adam had last week of work and we spent our days filled with lots of family fun times. Trips to the beach, park, bike rides, baby chinos. It was a great time until Friday when Deacon woke up with the same sickness that knocked us around just a few weeks earlier...
Since then it has jumped onto Maisy and then yesterday struck both Adam, Baylin and Me.
HORRIBLE  - that's the only way i can describe it. 5 people all sick at once.
Adam was great and helped with the kids alot yesterday and let me sleep.
Today we are all feeling a bit better so I'm hoping things only get better from here.
If anyone can recommend a way to cleanse my home id love to hear as two sickness bouts within a month is two too many for me.
Hope you are all well :)

10 days i would love to erase

Wed 27th June was the start of a week and a half i would love to erase from my memory....

it all started with Deacons asthma flaring up with the onset of a cold / virus. He was so sick he had the shakes and all. It breaks my heart to see them so sick especially when they say things like this "i don't like this mummy...i want it to go away" so sad :(
As much as i try to keep the kids separate when sick it is impossible with 3 kids all so little.
So then its was Maisy and lastly Baylin who all picked up the sickness.
The virus came with vomiting, high temps (i mean HIGH like 40.5), coughs, runny noses, not eating... you name it we had it.
It affected Baylin to most and he was vomiting after every feed and i mean i was changing clothes after every feed he was vomiting that much. He was even worse at night as the horrible cough was keeping him up. In that 10days or so if we got 2hrs sleep in a row or 4 hrs a night total we were doing ok.
We had 2am calls to nurse on call and doctors visits ended with just words of your doing a great job but we cant give them anything just keep pushing on.... I guess its the best option but i just wanted sleep and my babies to be better.
Days at home without leaving were the trend and we were just hoping it would end.

So here we are 10 or so days later and all is a million times better. Deacon and Maisy are back to playing, arguing, loving each other and Baylin is happy to play for more than 5mins like the last 10days. (still not sleeping great but i have had 4hrs in a row now!)
It has been extremely hard but thanks to my husband we made it through. It defiantly has taught me a few lesions though.

1. Enjoy healthy happy kids as much as you can as it can change in a heartbeat.
2. My crazy busy life before the sickness was nothing compared to the sickness and non sleep
3. Work is defiantly taking a back seat as family is way more important
4. I take WAY too much on with the word NO not in my language and that is defiantly something i need to change
5. 3 kids under 4 is way harder than i thought and i need better time management

I finish by sharing some photos of the last few weeks with you (pre and post sickness!)

I hope you have all been well and not suffered this horrible virus too :)

p.s i apologise to people who have been waiting on emails etc... i will try and get back on track this week

Busy Busy Busy

Baylin is 4mths old now and i have slowly been increasing my work load. I have also booked in for my first market back - Bendigo - on the 16th June.
I am however finding it harder than I thought at present to get things done with three kids! Yes i know i have 3 kids so that's hard enough as it is but i think i put high expectations on myself to do more!
Baylin is a great baby but doesn't sleep heaps during the day and does enjoy alot of attention.
It is really hard to get that balance between frustration of no work and Sam your a mum first and forget work!
I'm sure ill work it out but in the meantime - Sleep who needs it!! Late nights it is for me :)

I did manage however recently to make a blanket for Deacons bed.

Firstly I found a retro tablecloth from Felix - an antique shop in Dromana. I then found a vintage blanket from The Vintage Shed in Tyabb. Added a few fabrics I love and there you have it! I love it and so does Deacon!

Maisy Turns 2!!

I cant believe that my little girl is two!
We celebrated Maisyn's Birthday on Sunday but her actual birthday was Monday 23rd April. What a day it was two years ago when she was showing her stubbornness already and made me wait 4 days past her due but let me get to hospital with 14mins to spare before she greeted us with her presence.

She is a beautiful girl filled with SOOOOO much personality and attitude. She makes me smile so much and gives us happiness everyday. We love you to bits Maisy Moo! xx

Here are some photos from our lovely day on Sunday.
